We need a 21st century military that is small (around 40 thousand), nimble, highly technological advanced.  We need a combination of fighter aircraft and drones.  We need the technology to circumvent having tanks and other hardware that will require large budgets to maintain.  Our navy should be used to protect our shores.  Our soldiers should have the best logistics and equipment and we should develop our own R&D to find adequate resources to service our national armed forces.  We also need to divide it into specialties including Special Forces and recon.
